A 1953 retirement in the Senate. Thursday vote
Despite the stormy discussions and the grievances of the Senators of that time and the current ruling formation, The Senate eventually made no amendments on Wednesday to the law equalising the retirement of persons from the 1953 year. This means that on Thursday the Upper House of Parliament will pass the Act with technical amendments tabled on Tuesday.
Earlier in their work on the bill in the senate family committee, senior and social recognition policies in the eyes of senators did not gain an amendment that assumed an extension of the enrollment by more people. Amendments by Mark Borowski (KO) were rejected, which provided for the inclusion of all those who had been reduced without notice and a reduction in the statutory deadline for re-establishing the pension from six to three months.
The changes will benefit those born in 1953, but must also meet other conditions. They had to be entitled to early retirement before 1 January 2013.
In addition, they had to apply for a pension according to new rules, granted after reaching the statutory retirement age and the pension had to be set down with a reduction in the calculation base by the sum of early retirements collected.
As we already wrote in money.pl, in 2013 the rules on the calculation of the pension to early pension recipients were amended, introducing early retirement pensions from the base.
The yearbooks that reached the general retirement age by 2013 used the possibility to calculate pensions according to earlier, more favourable rules for them. There was no 1953.
Some 74,000 people will benefit from the changes. In the coming months only PLN 2.2 billion is to be paid. An average monthly increase of over PLN 1.4 thousand may be expected by the pension scheme.
Some of them will receive compensation for previous years – on average over PLN 12,000 and an average monthly increase of about PLN 200. ZUS is due to start withdrawals from January 2021.
